Schmeder Mougan

Schmeder Mougan started business as an exclusive agent for the European market of Ray Manhattan Inc.

1968

Abrasivos Manhattan, S.A.

Construction of a new plant in Vitoria – Gasteiz, and purchase of know-how and European sales network belonging to the US company: Abrasivos Manhattan, S.A.  began to manufacture grinding products independently.

1981

Manhattan GmbH

Abrasivos Manhattan, S.A. specialized in the entire production of rubber band grinding products.
Manhattan GmbH was created to distribute to the German market, bringing the product to different European manufacturers.

1987

Abrasivos Unesa, S.L.

Purchase of Abrasivos Unesa, S.L. (Hernani, Spain), specialized in manufacturing vitrified and resinoid abrasives: the Grupo Manhattan was launced and extended its range of available products.

1990

Manhattan Abrasives USA

A new production plant was established in Almería (Spain), thus specializing part of the group in a clearly diverse sector from the production of abrasives.
In addition, Manhattan Abrasives U.S.A. as a trade delegation in the US, in order to offer a more direct and closer service in this market.

2000

Siapi SRL

In the decade of 2000, collaboration began with the Italian company Siapi S.R.L.
In addition, during this period Abrasivos Manhattan increased its international presence:
Business relations were strengthened in India and Brazil, establishing a business and technical advice agency in each of these countries, thus improving coverage for each region.

2009

Manhattan Abrasives Vitoria-Gasteiz

Since 2009 the whole manufacturing of the cork/rubber grinding wheels from siapi S.R.L. are made in the factory of Vitoria-Gasteiz

2020

Siapi S.R.L.

In 2020, Abrasives Manhattan expands its commercial network with the purchase of Siapi S.R.L.
